This new guitar is the result of 12 months of collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis and Eastwood Guitars.

The original single pickup Warren Ellis Signature Tenor was introduced back in September of 2010. This new model follows up on the success of the original instrument, bringing in more tonal possibilities, while retaining the original guitar’s simplistic look and feel. The new Tenor 2P is the fourth in a series of unique stringed instruments recently released by Eastwood Guitars.

Just like the original version, this guitar comes with a solid alder body cut into a compact double cutaway shape. The body is wrapped by a sonic blue finish, which when paired with its Tortoiseshell pickguard, gives the instrument an overall vintage vibe.

Bolted to the body is a neck made of maple, it is topped by a rosewood fingerboard with conventional dot markers. The guitar has a shorter scale length of 23″ while the width at the nut is measured at 1 5/16″. The headstock is equipped with Kluson Style nickel/chrome tuners, and it is also wrapped in sonic blue finish to match the body.

New to this version is a NY Mini Humbucker in the bridge position, while the single-coil looking blade humbucker is retained on the neck. Pickup control is provided for via the two slide switches with volume and tone controls. The guitar will initially be available in Sonic Blue with a Tortoiseshell pickguard and chrome hardware.

Warren Ellis, multi-instrumentalist and co-designer, commented: “The new 2P gives me a better top end and has opened up more possibilities in my writing. I have both on stage with me this month at every Nick Cave and Grinderman show.” Mike Robinson, President and founder of Eastwood Guitars, said: “Players really get the concept of the Tenor, it has allowed guitarists to discover a totally new sonic pallet… and now with the addition of the extra pickup and alternative tunings the possibilities seem endless.”
