Welcome the second installment of our Extreme Guitars' Ax Facts and Stats series with 3 Doors Down band members; This one featuring guitarist Matt Roberts. The band is currently touring heavily in support of their soon to be released self-titled album due for release May 2008 featuring “It’s Not My Time”.

3 Doors Down has been marked as one of the industry's popular and consistently successful rock bands in recent history. Billboard Magazine claimed 3 Doors Down was the first debut act to ever have had a #1 single at four different radio formats simultaneously with “Kryptonite”. The band even went on to win the 2003 Billboard Music Awards for “Best Pop/Rock Group” and “Best Hot 100 Single,” and additionally earned the distinction of seeing “When I'm Gone” become the most played song in 2003 according to the Nielson Vegas for Artist of the Year: Modern AC Radio.

Genz Benz El Diablo amps, TC Electronics multiprocessor, Monster Clean Power, Ibanez guitars.

The greatest invention for guitars is:

The electronic pickup.

My normal songwriting process consists of:

A small amplifier and one of my Ibanez guitars.

Favorite all-time song (any artist) is:

”The Song Remains The Same” by Led Zepplin.

Favorite song by our band:

”Be Somebody”

Favorite song to perform in front of a live audience:

“Away From the Sun”.

My Career highlight thus far is:

I've had many highlights, the best part is being able to continue to make records and tour.

My most embarrassing moment on stage:

Watching my bass player fall of the back of the stage

Other than my guitar and amps, the one piece of my gear thatI cannot live without is:

My dunlop wah pedal.

The exact moment I knew I would pursue a career in music was:

When the band formed in late 95.

Frosted Cherry pop tarts.

Working at an outboard motor repair shop.

Not a fair question i love movies and have way too many.

My mission in life:

To spread as much good will as I can and have a good time doing it!

Finish our US tour in peace.
