Omis Guitar Festival 2012

Omis, Croatia will host the 3rd Omis Guitar Festival in April 2012, featuring concerts, masterclasses, competitions and workshops for all guitar enthusiasts.

Last year's festival saw 220 competitors from 13 countries with thousands of spectators, and this year they are expecting even more.

The Omis Guitar Fest is for fans and players of all guitar types including electric, acoustic and classical guitar. Guitar wizards from various countries will entertain and teach at the concerts, workshops and masterclasses.

Vlatko Stefanovski will open the festival with an "unplugged" concert. Josip Pesut will have a Melody creation masterclass. Cruise party, David Dyakov, Ansambl Laurum and Carlo Marchione will also showcase their talents.

You can also join or see upcoming guitar talents compete on various categories. If you are into nylon string classical music then you can join the competition for Classical Guitar, or if you have awesome written music for classical guitar, you can join the Composition for Classical Guitar competition. Shredders will also enjoy the Electric Guitar competition along with a separate category for Electric Guitar Compositions. Singer songwriters can join the special contest for acoustic guitar with vocals.

The application form for contestants is available online via the Omis Guitar Festival website. The festival is scheduled to run from April 11 to April 14, 2012.
