EMedia Music unveils three new Guitar Lab DVDs, each one providing 50 essential blues licks that “you must know”.
The DVDs are 50 Blues Rock Rhythms You Must Know, 50 Acoustic Blues Licks You Must Know and 50 Texas Blues Licks You Must Know.
eMedia Music teamed up with TrueFire to produce these DVDs, gathering essential blues riffs and licks that is meant to jump start and improve blues guitar playing. These DVDs feature PIP (Picture in Picture) video, a manual, standard notation, tab, power tab files, practice rhythm tracks and additional bonus material.
Joe Dalton hosts the 50 Acoustic Blues Licks You Must Know DVD. It is a collection of handpicked and impressive acoustic blues licks that you can use as a starting point for constructing your very own acoustic blues guitar solos. According to eMedia: “Dalton teaches plenty of great fills, contrary motion moves, double and triple-stops, hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides and assorted smoking licks. You also get intros, a variety of bluesy progressions to work with, turnarounds, constant bass grooves and countless tips on putting it all together to create your own sound as well as craft mesmerizing solo acoustic blues pieces.”
Presenting the 50 Blues Rock Rhythms You Must Know is guitar instructor Jeff Scheetz. This DVD covers the licks, riffs and rhythmic patterns in the style of popular blues rock guitarists including Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Robin Trower, Joe Bonamassa, Van Halen, Eric Johnson, David Gilmour and many more. eMedia Music explains that: “Most guitar players spend more time learning to play “lead” guitar than they do working on their rhythm chops. Whether you’re a pro, a weekend warrior, or just jam with your buds, chances are you’ll play far more rhythm guitar than lead. You will have a much better chance of getting and keeping that gig if you can play great rhythm guitar”.
The third DVD, 50 Texas Blues Licks You Must Know is hosted by Corey Congilio. This one features Texas style blues licks from the late ’60s to the early ’70s. The blues licks that you can learn here are applicable to southern rock, blues rock, slide guitar and even for some jazz. Texas blues masters include Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Winter, Freddie King, Billy Gibbons, T-Bone Walker and Eric Johnson. eMedia summarizes the DVD saying: “The modern style of Texas blues features the heavy use of memorable electric guitar riffs, blazing solos, exciting rhythm patterns and tasty turnarounds – all of which are showcased in this handpicked collection of 50 Texas Blues Licks You Must Know”.
These DVDs are expected to be available in September 1, 2012. They will be sold by retail stores and online shops worldwide with an estimated retail price of $24.95.
