Like their previous tutorials, the new videos provide clear visuals and easy to follow step by step instructions.

Fender University: Changing Your Output Jack

Depending on how you handle your instrument and how you plug and unplug your jacks, the output jack may become loosened, disconnected or damaged. Problematic output jacks will intermittently, if not permanently, cut-off your sound, and so it has to be inspected, re-soldered if needed or replaced.

The new Fender University: Changing Your Output Jack is meant to help Fender guitar owners as they deal with output jack problems. It will serve as a quick guide on how to access the output jacks of their popular instruments, including the Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazz Bass and Precision Bass. As the name implies, the video also provides detailed instructions on how to detach, re-solder and replace the various types of output jacks found on their instruments.

Fender University: Changing Your Speakers

In the rare case that you blew up your speakers or you are experiencing sound problems, it is a good idea to check the speaker and the wires connected to it. This tutorial video provides straightforward instructions on how to access back and front mounted speakers of Fender amps and cabs.

Although changing speakers seem very simple to many, everyone can still benefit from detailed instructions on how to access the speakers. Although the tutorial did mention impedance matching, it did not elaborate enough. Still, Fender amp owners will find the video quite handy especially for the inexperienced.

Aside from these two new videos, Fender University tackles other guitar maintenance related issues from changing the machine head to installing a Fender Tremolo bridge and many more. They also joined forces with Berklee to offer free guitar playing tutorials that are accessible through their site. Visit Fender for more information.
