The showroom is independently owned and operated by music store Holocausto Music, and is the first ever Fender Custom Shop Showroom in Latin America.

For those not in the know, Fender Custom Shop started in 1987 and is considered as a “dream factory”, which Fender further explained as: “producing guitars that are to playing what Ferraris are to driving”. The instruments they build are of the expensive kind, and are usually limited to a few numbers. The instruments that are branded as Fender Custom Shop are built by the skilled craftsmen in Fender’s Corona, California factory.

Now thanks to this new showroom, guitarists from Mexico and Latin America now have a nearby store that offers the best instruments from Fender. The new Custom Shop showroom will carry the high-end guitars and amplifiers from Fender Custom Shop, making them available to those that can afford.

The showroom is situated on the rooftop of the store’s building, so aside from showcasing great looking Custom Shop guitars, visitors are also treated to a great view that overlooks the historic buildings, skyscrapers, and high-rise rooftops in Mexico City’s historic center.

Mike Eldred, Fender Custom Shop Director of Marketing, said: “Opening a showroom in Mexico City is a step closer to our goal of having the finest instruments available to international consumers and artists. It joins four other Fender Custom Shop Showrooms in the world, including Germany, Italy, Tokyo, and Korea.”

The opening was greeted by guitarists and fans, artists such as singer-songwriter Mijares, pop-punk band Allison, and members of rock band Moderatto, Fobia and Caifanes also graced the grand opening with their presence.

Since the instruments they feature are not your average Fender guitars, the Mexico City Custom Shop showroom is open by appointment only. If you wish to schedule a visit, you can do so by going to Holocausto Music.
