This biography is written by Steven Rosen and Andrew Klein, they combined interviews, rare pictures and memorabilia to piece together the story of Randy.

Randy Rhoads is a familiar name in guitar circles, he was a very talented young guitar player that was gone too soon, just when he was on the fast lane to rock stardom.

The book covers the story of this young guitarists’ life before his tragic death at the age of 25. It starts out by tracing back the stories of how Randy started playing, and even showing his early instruments. The book also showcased stories and images of how Randy honed his skills, also showcasing his earlier band called Quiet Riot.

It also offers a lot of rare photographs, interviews and snippets of Randy’s 2 year run with Ozzy Osbourne, as they recorded two multi-platinum albums. Randy’s fretwork on songs such as Mr. Crowley, Crazy Train and Flying High Again gave him legendary status as a guitar icon. Guitar Player magazine even honored Randy as the best new talent of the year in 1981.

Finally the book covers the details of Randy’s untimely death on the morning of March 19, 1982. He was killed in a small private plane along with two other people as it crashed into the garage of a plantation home in Leesburg, Florida. During that flight, the plane’s pilot was doing unnecessary stunts trying to fly close to the parked tour bus. On its third attempt, the plane’s left wing clipped the back side of the tour bus, and sent the plane spiraling and crashing into a nearby mansion.

Randy Rhoads’ legacy did not end on that fateful day, his music and talent lives on and continues to inspire the next generation of guitar players. This book gives a more in depth look at the life and legacy of this popular rock guitar player.
