High Gainer Distortion MT-HG is a versatile overdrive/distortion pedal, the latest sturdy stompbox from ModTone Effects.
The MT-HG pedal features ModTone’s aircraft quality jacks and switches packed in a tank like but cool looking yellow die-cast casing.
This is a straightforward distortion pedal with two simple knobs that control Gain and Level. Although the gain knob looks simplistic, ModTone claims that it can provide a wide range of tones, from slight overdrive to full on high gain, which is where it got its name.
A dual concentric tone knob setup gives you the ability to do basic tone shaping. It controls the high and low frequencies independently which you can adjust to achieve the tone that you are hearing in your head.
Its yellow die-cast casing feature some cool looking designs with the labels and settings easily visible for visual monitoring. Since it features metal parts, the pedal is built to accept punishment which is an important criterion if you are playing aggressive rock and metal music.
When disengaged, the pedal has a True Bypass circuit which lets your signal bypass the pedal and go straight through. MT-HG is powered by a 9V battery and can be powered by a compatible power adapter.
