Black Cat Vibe

Black Cat Pedals brings back their Univibe clone, the Black Cat Vibe, featuring modern improvements on its durability and reliability.

Black Cat Vibe

Black Cat Vibe is now available in a nice looking stompbox enclosure, if you prefer the original half-rack look, you can wait for its September release.

The Black Cat Vibe is their previous flagship product and many were impressed with its “boutique” build and sound quality. Professional guitarists like Steve Lukather, Michael Landau and Trey Anastasio are said to have incorporated this pedal into their rigs.

Black Cat ensured that the recreated version still follows the sound and audio details of the original. The new Vibe maintains the same circuit as the original. The designers auditioned several of the original Vibes and picked the best one on which they based the new production units on.

This pedal faithfully reproduces the original Univibe made famous by Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour and Robin Trower. It uses a flashing lamp and four photocells to create its distinctive sound. The Black Cat Vibe utilizes a separate lamp for the indicator, whereas most other Univibe based effects use an LED.

The Vibe’s Metallic Silver outer shell is custom fabricated in the USA, as well as its Black Cat Dome lamp/LDR cover. The circuit itself is also hand-wired ensuring quality and consistency for years of use. An optional expression pedal jack input is also provided so you can manually control the effect speed.

The new Black Cat Vibe is expected to retail for $334.95, with a two-month wait time to accommodate the orders. To get on the waiting list, you have to email the manufacturer.
