This new tuner pedal is launched alongside three other tuners, including a more compact pedal, a clip-on tuner, and a tuner with metronome unit, all of which feature the latest tuning technology that the company can offer..

What made Boss a literal boss in the pedal market is their reliability and long line of products, and this time around, the company is upping the ante yet again with the TU-3W tuner. This tuner is part of their premium Waza Craft line, which are essentially hot-rodded versions of their popular stompboxes, competing against the many boutique pedal builders that have been essentially cloning and modding Boss pedals and releasing them as their own.

The Waza Craft TU-3W Chromatic Tuner is described as a special-edition tuner pedal, with refined features to make it easier to use and implement into complex rigs. It carries over the core functions of the original TU-3, which is to provide quick and accurate chromatic tuning. The update that this pedal brings has more to do with improved signal transfer, allowing for pure uncolored signal to pass through the pedal. To do this, boss redesigned the circuitry allowing for true-bypass operation, which essentially removes the pedal’s circuit when disengaged.

In addition to true-bypass, Boss also equipped this pedal with a switchable buffered circuit, where the pedal buffers the signal. This helps when you’re pedalboard has gotten a bit too big and you don’t have a buffer pedal, or you need long cable runs.

Boss also released another tuner pedal called TU-3S, a compact version of the TU-3, offering the same performance but in a scaled-down size to save pedalboard space. The TU-01 Clip-On Chromatic Tuner is another new release from Boss, it clips on the headstock and features a bright digital meter display.

Boss also has a new Tuner & Metronome unit called the TU-30, carrying over the features of the TU-80 in an smaller package. Features that are carried over include the convenient Accu-Pitch function, multiple tuning modes and rhythm patterns, the ability to sound reference pitches, and more. The metronome feature makes this a great accessory for practice, useful for both students and instructors.

Finally, all these four new tuners are packed inside tank tough housings that’s known to last for many many years, easily the unit’s main selling point. The Boss Waza Craft TU-3W Chromatic Tuner pedal is currently retailing for $149. For further details, you can head over to Boss.
