DigiTech introduces its latest compact and affordable guitar multi-effects pedals, the Element and Element XP.

These multi-effect pedals carry a wide selection of effects, amps, cabinets and even drum machines in a tiny hardware that’s convenient to use, setup and carry around.
The bigger DigiTech Element XP pedal comes with an expression pedal and offers 38 effects, while the smaller Element pedal features 34 effects. Both of them come with DigiTech’s latest effects processing technology, with six classic overdrive and distortion models, 12 amps and cabinets, and 28 other effect types.
Although their small sizes give them portability advantages, control options are compromised due to the surface of the pedals. To maximize this small space, the pedal utilizes a unique pedalboard-style control layout that makes it easy to setup in preparation for a performance, or to make quick adjustments during song breaks. The pedal is designed to let you adjust, save and load your preferred settings efficiently.

The amp models found on the pedal include approximations of classics like the 65 Fender “Blackface” Twin Reverb, ’57 Fender Tweed Deluxe, ’68 Marshall Super Lead “Plexi”, ’83 Marshall JCM800, ’01 Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier, ’63 Vox AC 30 Top Boost and many other sought after amps. The overdrive/distortion stompboxes modeled are also quite extensive, with recreations of DigiTEch’s own Grunge, DOD 250 Preamp/Overdrive and Death Metal pedals, as well as third party pedals like the TS-9 Tube Screamer, DS-1 Distortion and the Big Muff Pi. Mixing and matching the amps and drive pedals alone can give you quite a wide variety of tones.
Both pedals also provide a dazzling array of effects: chorus, compressor, flanger, phaser, tremolo, vibrato, 3-band EQ, rotary simulator, envelope filter, step filter, spring reverb, room reverb, noise gate, an acoustic guitar simulator and many others. Aside from the above mentioned effects, the Element XP pedal adds four expression pedal-based effects including the Dunlop Cry Baby wah wah, Vox Clyde McCoy wah, a full-range wah and a volume pedal – even DigiTech’s dramatic Whammy pitch shift and YaYa and AutoYa wah effects are packed into the compact pedal.
One primary advantage of having multi-effects pedals is the convenience of having software presets. The Element and Element FX will let you save 100 custom presets on top of the 100 factory presets. To help improve your sense of timing, both pedals come with 45 drum tracks that you can jam and practice along with. Wrapping up the features of the new pedals is a built-in tuner.
Connectivity options include 1/4 inch stereo output, a 1/4 inch guitar input, a dedicated headphone jack and an aux input for jamming along with your favorite tracks. Power supplies are also included for quick out of the box setup.
The DigiTech Element pedal is expected to retail for $119.95, while the Element XP comes with a tag price of $159.95. Both pedals are set for release this coming October. Visit Digitech for more information.
