Each effect comes with 3 different voicing variations, giving you a total of 9 different effect types in one unit.
Although it looks like a regular analog pedal, the Nebulus is actually a multi-effect pedal complete with a preset system that can store up to 8 different settings. This will let you better utilize the various effects provided by the pedal.
The Chorus effect provides three modes, the most basic of which is the analog like basic chorus mode. For more fluid and exaggerated chorusing, you can use the multi-chorus mode. The third mode mixes a tremolo effect to the chorus, resulting in a retro sounding effect.
The Flanger effect also features three different modes. The first one is an emulation of a classic tape flange. The second mode brings back the '70s era with a negative feedback type flanger. The third mode is the thru-zero flange cancels out the signal at certain points of the cycle, behaving like a rhythmic kill switch.
The third effect provided by the Nebulus is vibrato, and this section also comes with three modes. The basic vibrato mode provides traditional vibrato effect. The second mode emulates the popular uni-vibe effect, while the third mode emulates a rotating speaker.
Four knobs let you control the mix, rate, depth and output. Further tweaking is provided by specialized switches that will let you tweak other important settings relative to the effect and mode that you are working on. The pedal also comes with added features like the ability to add compression to vibrato mode. A special Tone switch provides further tone shaping, it lets you pick between three tone voicings - warm, clean and bright.
Like all other Empress pedals, the Nebulus comes with true bypass circuitry. The Nebulus is scheduled for release before this month ends, pricing information will be available upon release. Visit Empress Effects for the complete specifications.
