For a regular sized pedal, the ME-8 features a wide variety of delay and echo effects, including double-tracking, swirling chorus, vintage style modulated tape echo and even modern digital delay. Reverb effects are also available, covering everything from some rooms to grand halls.

The new Multi Echo is actually a multi-effects unit packed inside a standard size pedal, and according to Keeley, they designed its complex circuitry to be controlled by a straightforward interface that lets you select and use one effect at a time and make necessary adjustments to it as you please.

It is said that the pedal lets the dry unaffected signal go through a true analog path, while the effects are all produced by advanced DSP algorithms that recreate the sound of vintage to modern echo and delay effects.

The company packed in eight of their popular time-delay effects into the pedal, this includes Automatic Double Tracking, Chorus, Tape Echo with Dynamic Modulation, Analog Delay and Subdivided Digital Delay, as well as Room, Chamber with Distortion, and Hall Reverb with Shimmer! These effects are grouped into three – Chorus with Double Tracking, Echo and Delay, and last but not the least, Reverb.

Robert Keeley is quoted saying, “We paid attention to the details within the Multi Echo ME-8 as each sound is architected to be a true voicing of the effect itself. In real life, a chamber reverb will have some natural distortion present from reflections in the room, and double-tracking and tape delay effects will reveal variances in pitch and tone that fluctuate in numerous and random directions. We’ve captured those critical elements and more to deliver an exciting new sonic experience for musicians in a compact design.”

In addition to switching between multiple modes, the Multi Echo ME-8 comes with four controls for effects and tone shaping. The Program knob lets you select the mode of the pedal, while essential time, depth and tone knobs give you control over both the shape of the sound, and the characteristics of the effect type you are using.
