These pedals bring the same tone as their predecessors, while having more functionality and improved durability.

The Sweeper 2 pedal is the updated version of their popular Sweeper Bass Chorus effect, while the Møller 2 pedal is the successor to the original Møller Distortion/OverDrive pedal.

We can expect to see and hear more about these new pedals and other gear from T-Rex as the coming 2013 Winter NAMM Show draws closer.

Møller 2 Drive

According to T-Rex, the original Møller pedal, named and designed after Danish guitarist Knud Møller, is one of their most sought-after pedal. So in introducing its updated version, they made sure to bring the same analog sounding overdrive as the original.

The Møller 2 pedal now comes with a more robust Voice toggle switch and T-Rex improved the readability of the settings. They did this by adjusting the look and position of the knobs and their corresponding labels, resulting in a green pedal with an interface that is easy to use and understand.

The pedal now comes with a nifty 0-20dB Clean Boost switch, and it also has a new Mix knob to let you tweak your preferred balance of overdriven and clean signals. Maxing out the gain and Mix will give you vintage tube amp overdrive characteristics that are set at full volume. To get a soft clipping tone, you can roll the Mix knob back a bit, to let your clean signal get through, much like it would when rolling back the volume knob of a guitar when connected straight to a tube amp.

Sweeper 2 Bass Chorus

The Sweeper 2 pedal retains the simple and intuitive design of the original, while improving on the tone and readability of the settings. It remains a straightforward chorus effect for bass, providing a wide array of depth and rate while delivering classic low registers.

Like the Møller 2, the knobs and the graphics are arranged so that they are even easier to see, allowing you to know what your settings are with a quick glance, and make adjustments just as quickly.

T-Rex improved the algorithm of the Chorus effect, according to them, the Sweeper 2 now has a warmer, more vintage sounding chorus effect that stays consistently good even as you tweak the dials. This bass chorus pedal now features left and right (Stereo) output, to provide you with a more intense stereo chorus effect.

The Møller 2 is expected to have a street price of $299, while the Sweeper 2 pedal has an anticipated street price of $199.

Chorus is one effect that I haven’t used on my bass yet. Though Sweeper 2 Bass Chorus seems interesting with all it’s features specially that it keeps the originality of the actual bass sound while improving it simultaneously. Its definitely worth a try.
