Rocktron introduces the MicroHush, a compact micro-pedal version of their popular Hush noise reduction pedal.

Like the original, the MicroHush lets you remove unwanted feedback, pickup buzz and the pesky hiss when using overdrive, and it does all this while maintaining signal fidelity and having a small footprint that saves precious pedalboard real estate.
Getting your message across as clear as possible is as important as writing up the message, or in the guitar’s case, filtering unwanted noise is as important as playing the right notes. This is especially obvious when playing at high volumes or when using distortion effects, and is the reason why multi-effect pedals come with built-in noise reduction. The Rocktron MicroHush makes noise reduction more accessible to pedalboard users by miniaturizing the unit to save space.
The company claims to be one of the leaders in guitar noise reduction, and looking at their extensive line of noise reduction pedals, it’s safe to say that they are not bluffing. MicroHush adds to the already long list of noise reduction pedals which include the Hush Super C, Hush Pro, Hush Ultra, Hush 2X and the original Hush.
The Rocktron MicroHush is said to be designed specifically for guitar rigs, it is meant to have minimal impact on your existing tone, while taking care of guitar-related noise problems. As expected, it uses true bypass switching to make sure that your signal path stays clear when disengaged. One downside of using noise reduction pedal is premature signal cutting, thankfully, Rocktron designed this pedal to track the signal all the way to avoid chopping-off sustained notes. It is said that the pedal lets you achieve up to 65 dB of signal clean up.
To take full advantage of the new MicroHush, Rocktron recommends that you plug the pedal right after overdrive/fuzz/distortion pedals. It should also go after noisy vintage effects and wahs. And with its one knob operation, all you have to do is just turn the threshold knob up until the unwanted noise goes away. Rocktron provided a special note that this pedal does not eliminate the dreaded 60-cycle ground loop hum, for that you’ll need DI box with ground lift.

To ensure that the pedal is ready for public consumption, Rocktron teamed up with artists to test the pedal in real world tour scenarios. It is currently being used out on tour by Scott Middleton (Cancer Bats), Marc Rizzo (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy) and The Used.
