This app is an iOS port of the desktop version software that bears the same name, developed with the help of Orange Amps themselves. It houses five officially licensed guitar amplifiers, and one amp for bass.

The new AmpliTube Orange app will let you Turn your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch into a full featured amplifier and recording studio solution. It utilizes AmpliTube’s amp modeling technology to digitally reproduce the sounds of popular amps including the 40th anniversary reissue of the single channel “pics only” original OR50, the versatile “dirty” channel of the Rockerverb 50 MKII with multiple gain stages, the dual-channel 200-watt Thunderverb 200, the Tiny Terror “lunchbox amp”, and the straight ahead “British voiced” AD30.

There is also a single channel vintage inspired AD 200 Bass MK 3 amp model for bass players, capable of providing a wide variety of bass tones from clean to grit and dirt.

The app also comes with matching Orange speaker cabinet emulation to support the modeled amp tones, including the 4×12” PPC, 1×12” PPC, 2×12” PPC, 2×12” AD30 and the 1×15” OBC. You can pick the cabinet that you prefer and you can mixed and match them with the various amp heads to better understand the app’s various sonic flavors.

Going beyond amp modeling, AmpliTube Orange features four vintage style effect pedals. These pedals come with Orange-inspired designs that make them visually and sonically compatible with the modeled amps. The four effects include the Noise filter, Highway Drive, Echo Trip and the Shaker tremolo.

The Noise Filter effect will let you reduce hiss when gain is cranked. Highway Drive is based on vintage dirt pedals while Echo Trip is a delay pedal with feedback, delay time, level and tone controls. Finally, The Shaker tremolo pedal has rate, depth shape control

Aside from amp modeling and effects, AmpliTube Orange also comes with a built-in audio recorder. According to the official release, “the recorder section can be expanded via in-app purchase (4 tracks on iPhone/iPod touch, 8 tracks on iPad) for multi-track recording and composition. The full recorder features a bounce function that frees up tracks for limitless recording, and a master effects section with global reverb, EQ and compression. Players can record complete compositions without leaving AmpliTube Orange.”

AmpliTube Orange features inter-App compatibility, which means that you can use it in conjunction with your other iOS music apps. Another nifty feature of this app is the practice-friendly Song section, which lets you play along with your iTunes library tracks. It features a voice filter software that reduces the vocal frequencies to emphasize the guitar section, and speed control for slowing down or speeding up audio without changing pitch.

AmpliTube Orange is now available on the App Store in two versions: AmpliTube Orange for iPhone/iPod touch and AmpliTube Orange for iPad, with a price tag of $14.99. The 4–Track recorder and 8-Track recorder upgrade with master effects section is priced at $9.99 and $14.99 respectively, available via in app purchase. You can also avail individual gear models that interest you, instead of buying the entire bundle, the price range for these gear pieces range from $2.99 to $6.99.
