Here are some good tips for re-voicing old 6 string chords as 7 string chords…
I have just read an article in Guitar (British magazine) about Uli Jon Roth… his custom built 7 string “Sky” guitar has 36 frets and has been in development since 1985 when it was a lowly 6 string model.
It was in 1987 that it got the 7th string added… apparently he plays those high end notes with his fingernails! I saw him on Satriani’s G3 tour a couple of years back and was really impressed with his range and sound… now I know why.
Here’s some work for anyone interested in working out some new voices or shapes for them tired old 6 string chords…
