I have question for the recording buffs out there. I just boughta four track recorder. I suse an electric guitar and an electric acoustic to record with. I have a horrible practice amp and so have decided to just record by plugging my guitar directly into the four track recorder. the think is I of course only get a straight forward guitar sound to record with. i was looking to buy an effects box. I am basically looking for reverb, tremolo, and etc. The basic effects. what i want to know is is it possible to buy an effects box like you were going to plug it between your amp and guitar, and take that same effects box, and simply plug it between your guitar and four track recorder, and get the sufficient effects.

I want to do this since I have a horrible amp, so i can get some variety and experimentation out of my recordings.

So out of all of this convolution I mainly asking if it is possible to buy an effects box that giives basic effects and plug it between the four track and guitar to get what I want.
