I’m not going to be a big help here Jane … I love reverb so I have amps that have this …..both Fenders ….Tweed Blues Deluxe and Satellite amps ..Like to set at 3 so get extra sustain and more depth in sound ..I’ve got a DOD Tec-8 effects processor but I rarely use it …the digitial signal is too dry and thin for my tastes ..so just get in the car and start hitting the local guitar stores ( funtime always !) and see what you like …your the only one that has to be happy with sound !!
