TransPerformance self-tuning guitar

A computerized mechanical tuning system for guitars

Imagine tuning up your guitar simply by pressing a button and strumming the strings. Now imagine changing tunings quickly and accurately simply by pressing a button or footswitch. You’ve just imagined the Performer by TransPerformance.

Imagine playing rhythm in open G, switching to standard tuning for your solo, changing to open C for the bridge, and then back to open G for the next verse. Our Smart Bridge technology not only makes this possible, it’s fast, easy and precise. Thousands of tunings are literally at your fingertips.

The Performer comes with 144 pre-set tunings, plus room for 240 more of your own, with many thousands of distinct tunings possible. You can easily create your own tunings, temper them sharp or flat, and adjust the speed for each tuning change. You name your own tunings and menus and arrange them however you like. Copy any tuning and insert it wherever you want it. Transpose pitch to match a particular vocal range or pre-recorded source. Use the On Screen Tuner™ to quickly check the tuning of all six strings at the same time. You can also go wireless with battery operation. The Performer even works with a capo!

"Once I saw the thing was real, I could immediately see its possibilities in a multitude of situations. It’s accurate, it’s fast, and it makes people’s eyes pop out."

Jimmy Page

Open the floodgates to creativity. The Performer turns one guitar into something you couldn’t get if you had 100 guitars. The ability to create and access literally thousands of tunings so easily is truly a phenomenal song writing tool. Not only can you explore new tunings, you can put them together in any way you desire. Write songs in one tuning, or with multiple tunings within the same song. You can even use the tuning change as an effect in itself. The Performer sets your guitar free. Creativity flows, interest grows, and you never know where the music may go.

"This guitar allows me to get to the vision of music I have in my head, faster. And to me that’s a great advantage."

Graham Nash

The Performer brings state of the art technology to the performing arts. A computer mounted inside the guitar controls six small motors, one connected to each string. The bridge and tailpiece are replaced by our mechanical unit, and a lock nut is installed on the headstock. At the push of a button or footswitch, the motors are activated and the actual tension of each string is adjusted. The original pickups and audio remain unchanged, so the sound, tone and feel of your guitar remains virtually the same, while sustain is actually slightly increased. Our tuning system is entirely separate from the audio system in the guitar, and we do not synthetically reproduce the sound of the guitar. We just tune it, the rest is up to you. With the Performer, you truly are limited only by your imagination.

communication with customers

Greatings,
I have become interested in the Transperformance self-tuning technology.
I have seen the specs at the selftuning.com site but I am interested in: * The invention itself.
* Selftuning must be the parent company of Transperformance?
* Contacts for Tranperformance are hidden pretty good on TP's site.
* Wildwood Guitars is mentioned but who honors the 2-yr warrantee?
* Duane R. Cole, is he the owner of TransP or is he in sales.
* Who invented the tuning product?

Since I am left with all these questions, could you fill in the gaps.
I am very fortunate to have even found this guitarsite.com

Thank you very much, good luck in the new year! Looking forward to
your reply.

Re: communication with customers

Duane is the sales person from what I know I do know that a man named Neil is the owner of TP... I just happen to live near him and be friends with him. The Guitar does come with a warranty that trans performance holds, however I have never heard of one of these guitars going bad not even Jimmy Pages which he has had nearly 11 years. Its a good product and its fun as hell to play.

Re: communication with customers

I invented the self tuning guitar for a university thesis in 1982. Do I get royalties.

Re: communication with customers

(I imagine that was only a rhetorical question, but...)

Answer: If you patented it, you can sue for infringement.

Other than that, nope.
