Hey everyone! Do any of you have any tips on how i can learn to play the 12-string bass? I have never played a guitar in my life and i need a few points on how to start. The only experience i have with reading music or playing a instrument is, ive been playing the oboe for the past 5 years and the clarinet for the past 2 years. I have a buddy that plays bass for the band Bellevue outta Norman, OK. They played this past weekend and he still had his 12ever. I asked him about it and he showed it to me before the show. It was a Red Kids Dragon Inlayed Bass (and all this time I thought it was some special made GMP). No shit… it was the 1st one made. A post production model that Lance somehow got. Tom has like 3, Nikki has 5, and Keanu Reeves has 1. But Lance Dierker has the 1st one, and that’s badass.
I’d really like to get one of these, I fell in love with one years ago. Anybody know where any are?

Kidd was a small bass producer.it went out of bussiness after making the 12-string bass.there are very few of those still around.in fact,NikkI Sixx of motley crue and Tom Peterson may have the only ones left!.
A good friend of mine in Oklahoma city has one of those Kidd Dragon 12 string basses, there is a photo in the Alembic club of me playing it, a very nice bass. we think it was a tom peterson bass, its purpleheart and heavy
