Replacing Humbuckers On Epiphone G400 (SG)

I have an ageing Epiphone G400 an would like to replace the pickups. I have read that there a re a number of options with regards to wiring in new pick ups, though I would prefer to stick with that used in the standard build for now.
Could anyone point me in the right direction for information on this?
Alternatively, a step-by-step guide designed for a complete idiot would be good?
