    – Press Release

The recently released Jackson Browne Solo Acoustic Vol. 1 presents twelve songs recorded
live during the artist’s recent, critically acclaimed series of solo acoustic
concerts. Soulful and intimate, the album also captures spirited and humorous
exchanges between Jackson and his audience, bringing the enthusiastic
reception with which he was greeted by fans worldwide into the mix as well.
Throughout, the disc displays the songwriting artistry that’s made Rock and
Roll Hall of Famer Jackson Browne one of the most literate and emotionally
    authentic singer-songwriters of his time.

Featuring solo performances on guitar and piano on a track listing that
spans Browne’s career, Jackson Browne Solo Acoustic Vol. 1 was produced by
Jackson Browne and Paul Dieter. It is his first live release since 1977’s
multi-platinum classic Running On Empty. Browne’s latest album also marks the
first release on Inside Recordings, the independent label he founded in 1999,
since its new national deal with top independent music distributor Alternative
Distribution Alliance (ADA) was put into place earlier this year.

A stripped-down and stirring guitar-accompanied version of the powerful
track “Lives In The Balance” is Solo Acoustic Vol. 1’s lead single. Delivered
with clarity and passion, the song is as relevant today as when it was first
released in 1986 during the Reagan years. Browne’s new album also features
the recording debut of “The Birds Of St. Marks,” a previously unreleased song
over three decades old it shines here with warm acoustic piano underscoring
    Jackson’s vocals.

Another piano-backed standout is a moving version of the 1974 classic
“Fountain Of Sorrow.” Other highlights from Browne’s early years include
“These Days,” “For Everyman” and “Take It Easy,” all performed on acoustic
guitar. The disc pulls selections from throughout Jackson’s decades of
repertoire, and also features, among other tracks, “Looking East” and “The
Barricades Of Heaven,” both on guitar, and “For A Dancer,” and “The
Pretender,” beautiful, elemental and essential on piano.

Jackson Browne Solo Acoustic Vol. 1 is the first in what will be a series
of live releases from Browne on Inside Recordings. Jackson Browne is
currently at work on a studio album of new material.
