Vintage German guitar

Hi, I was hoping someone out there could help me. I bought an old (late 50's) German hollow body acoustic/electric jazz guitar, and was hoping someone knows something about it. It is called "Record". This is the only name on it. It is an archtop, and has the original pickups on it. The only thing i know about it is that it was made by a famous pickup maker who is now in the states. I forgot his name, but I think it is "Kemmel" or something similar. I cannot find this name on the net so any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Ryan.
