Three exquisite new bluegrass models grace Gibson’s lineup

Gibson has announced a number of limited, finely crafted bluegrass instruments. They're gorgeous and the price reflects it. No harm in looking though 😀

Here's what Gibson had to say about them:

The 27 Deluxe Bubinga Dobro

The most exotic sounding instrument in the bluegrass line up, the Dobro brings haunting, reverberant shades of Hawaiian steel and Delta blues tones to the twang and ramble of this great American musical genre. Now Gibson Original Acoustic Instruments unveils a new Limited Edition Dobro that looks every bit as exotic as it sounds – the 27 Deluxe Bubinga Dobro. Made from golden-hued African Bubinga wood and constructed in the tradition of the seminal Dobros that set the standards for resonator-guitar tone some 75 years ago, the 27 Deluxe Bubinga Dobro is available in a limited run of just 15 instruments.

Retail: $4,443. Complete specs here.

Limited Edition Style 5 Deluxe Banjo

A new and exclusive variation of the Mastertone banjo. Thanks to the input of legendary folk and country-rock banjoist and guitarist Bernie Leadon—a founding member of The Eagles and a first-call sideman from Nashville to L.A. for the past 40 years—the new Style 5 Deluxe Banjo will be available in an extremely limited run of just ten instruments, including a custom-shaped Gibson hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.

Retail: $8,889 each. Complete specs here.

The Orville Mandolin

The Orville Mandolin — an exclusive one-off creation, never seen before and never to be produced again — is constructed with an elegance and artistry befitting Orville Gibson’s legacy. It’s even topped with a soundboard of solid black spruce cut from a tree that grew in the cemetery where this great originator is buried.
