Ampeg GVT Amplifiers now shipping to North America

Ampeg is now shipping its Ampeg GVT amplifiers to North America.

Ampeg was carrying around their GVT amplifiers everywhere to make sure they cover as many, and as varied guitar players that they can. They asked the guitarists to test out the GVT amps and according to Ampeg, the response were outstanding.

So now tone freaks have another toy to play with. Better make room for another amplifier, because if you will base it on the reputation of Ampeg, the GVT series will soon be part of many guitarists rig or at least their dream gear. They stand by the Ampeg GVT’s catch phrase – “Straight Up Tone”

The Ampeg GVT series of amplifiers covers a wide area of musical soundscape and genre, but it does have some things in common. Aside from the respected Ampeg label, the line of amps agree on things like having a sturdy, rugged road worthy build. While some Tube amps seem so fragile to bring to gigs, The GVT series is built for the road. You can let your tube tone fill up clubs and other gig venues, instead of just filling up your room.

The GVT amps have that new Ampeg all tube voice, equipped with 6v6 and 6l6 for that American tone. The amps also come equipped with Baxandall EQs that offers better tone options than the traditional EQ. Celestion Original and Vintage speakers are installed on all of them to ensure it gets out that Ampeg tone loud and clear. And finally it retains that vintage vibe with it’s black sparkle grille cloth and black line faceplate.

Another notable Ampeg GVT line feature is the Dual power mode. Full power mode will give you 50 watts RMS for playing load at big gigs, and the Half power with 25 watts RMS will allow you to play with full tube tone without annoying your neighbors when practicing.

With the Ampeg GVT series , it will be easy to dial in clean whiskey soaked style tones, gnarly chicken picking tones, crunchy Texas blues and even high gain sludge. All you have to do is to make some small tweaks and you are all set to fire up your very own tube driven “straight up tone”
