This newly introduced limited edition instrument follows after the recent Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award that Brent received for his guitar wizardry and influence on other guitar players.

Brent Hinds is well known for his metal guitar lines and fiery vocal work with his band Mastodon, he also had a recent appearance in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. So it is only logical for Epiphone to take advantage of his recent award and TV show appearance, by releasing a signature guitar with his name on the label.

As expected, Brent had a say on the design process of this newly unveiled instrument, from the finish to the pickups, including the neck profile and action. The result is a Flying-V that suits his playing style, which will be appreciated by fans and guitarists who play rock and metal.

To start off, the Epiphone Brent Hinds Flying-V Custom comes with a historic V shape mahogany body based on the first ones released back in the late ’50s. It is then wrapped in a nice looking silverburst finish and topped with a 5-layer black pickguard. The neck is also crafted from mahogany following the 1958 rounded profile with a scale length of 24.75″. It has an ebony fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, pearloid block inlays and nut width of 1-11/16″.

The guitar sports a classic V headstock with cosmetic enhancements that include “splid diamonds” pearloid inlays along with the ’60s era Epiphone logo. Brent decided to put his signature “Skull” logo in a discrete spot at the back of the headstock, where a label that says “2016” Limited Edition is also attached.

Giving this guitar its metal roar are Lace USA Brent Hinds signature Hammer Claws humbuckers, which Brent also co-designed. It is describe as having a bright attack, with smooth midrange crunch while retaining balanced lows and good dynamic response.

Bret Hinds concludes: “I love Flying Vs and I love my Epiphone. It’s perfect and it’s cooler than all the other guitars.”

Other cosmetics include 7-layer white and black binding on the body and 5-layer white and black binding on the headstock. The truss rod cover follows the Gibson/Epiphone Bell-Shape, and has a 2-layer (Black/White) binding and it has “Brent Hinds” written in white.

Pricing information will soon be available, visit Epiphone for the complete specifications and other details.
