Grendel Sound releases the Dead Room isolation cabinet

Grendel Sound's new Isolation Cabinet I is essentially a “dead room” on wheels, rather then just a isolation cabinet due to 6″ thick of absorption material housed in the lid with calculated chamber dimensions. This provides the clearest and cleanest signal possible from an amplifier into a mixer for recording or live sound reinforcement. With 30dB of noise reduction from lid open to lid closed on the Dead Room, you can successfully record tube amps with all the life and tone of a real speaker without disturbing anyone.

In the home studio is is great because the Dead Room can be in the same space as a control room, allowing recording to be easy and effective. In a live environment this allows you to isolate your sound so that monitor mixes, as well as FOH, have the most flexibility and control over your sound.

Constructed from domestic A2 grade Birch plywood and covered in a durable black carpet, the Grendel Dead Room is ready to last a lifetime. The Dead Room comes with two microphone mounts and one goose neck. Also on the menu are Neutrik XLR connectors hand soldered with 22AWG microphone cable inside and out.

A word of caution to anyone thinking of buying from Grendel Sound.

The vendor is having all sorts of customer service issues. His communication is great when trying to sell the product, but when he gets his money, he cuts off all emails and phone calls.

As of July, he has a list of customers waiting for cabinets. For more info on how this is going down, checkout Harmony Central and Gearslutz BB’s for some open discussions about Knappenberger’s business practices.

This guy is an absolute scammer. He’ll take your money, bait and switch you and you won’t hear from him for months. You may or may not get your order. ONce he has your money, you may have to pray to get one. I fell for the trap. Cab doesn’t sound as good as the others out there, neither does his new one. In fact, it sounds worse. I ditched the first one and bought the Rivera unit. More $ but worth it because I got it in a timely fashion.
