The company will be introducing four new TrunkTone boards that come in different sizes, with improved design that allow for more cable space and easier back row access.

The new T-Rex ToneTrunk line of pedalboards will get a significant design upgrade, the most notable change being the two-tiered top design that lifts the backrow pedals. This modification distinguishes the new line from the previous production models that carry the typical angled pedalboard design.

Probably inspired by multi-effect builders, the slightly elevated back portion will make the rear pedals easier to step on, allowing players to better utilize all the effect pedals they have on their board – without worrying about over-stepping, or worse falling out of balance.

Aside from making the rear mounted pedals easier to access, this design frees up precious space underneath, which translates to having more room for patch and extension cables, and maybe even for a power supply. The two-tiered design complements the angled frame to simplify foot switching and increase available space.

Like the previous models, each of the four new ToneTrunk pedalboards are already covered with the company’s T-Rex Tone Attach hoop and loop fastener, allowing for quick plug-and-play mounting of your pedals.

As expected the board is crafted from lightweight and durable aluminum, designed to be road-worthy and ready for the typical punishment that guitarists apply on their pedals. Since it doesn’t have any mechanical and moving parts, this board could easily outlive the pedals that you will put on it.

The entire assembly is safely grounded via solid rubber feet, they are designed to ensure that the board stays in place as you perform, while the included velcro strips are meant to keep your pedals

The company will offer the T-Rex ToneTrunks in four sizes:

  • ToneTrunk 70: 70 cm x 31.6 cm (27.5″ x 12.4″) | MSRP: $179
  • ToneTrunk 56: 56 cm x 31.6 cm (22.0″ x 12.4″) | MSRP: $139
  • ToneTrunk 45: 45 cm x 31.6 cm (17.7″ x 12.4″) | MSRP: $119
  • ToneTrunk Minor: 56 cm x 15.8 cm (22.0″ x 6.2″) | MSRP: $95

Each ToneTrunk board includes a rugged, padded gig bag with shoulder strap, as well as Velcro strips. The T-Rex website is currently still listing the older versions on their website, more information and pricing will soon be available, most probably after or during the upcoming 2015 NAMM Show.
