These four guitar wizards will lead the upcoming music camp, which combines music education, entertainment and vacation into a special learning experience.
This special guitar retreat is open to guitarists from all walks of life, and it provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hang out with and learn from Joe, Paul, Andy and Mike.
The event is scheduled to take place on August 11-15, 2014 at a resort called Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria, California, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Like the iconic G3 event that Satriani started over 15 years ago, the G4 Experience will bring together some of the best rock guitar artists together. However this time it won't be just for show, because the artists will teach, share and inspire the lucky participants.
Joe Satriani explains: "In 1996 I wanted to find a way to work with the guitar players I respected and we launched the first G3 tour. Since then I have enjoyed countless hours playing and ‘experiencing’ the amazing talents of my peers. The G4 Experience is my chance to expand on the G3 idea. I’ve invited my friends Paul Gilbert, Mike Keneally and Andy Timmons. I know these guys can play amazing guitar, and I want them to share that knowledge with the campers and with me!
Paul Gilbert adds: "When you’re at G4, you’ll have plenty of time to meet and hang out with the instructors. There are star performers at the camp, but this is much more than a handshake and a photo. We have enough time to relax and hang out. And you’ll get plenty of concrete guitar ideas, and inspiring memories to take home. One of the best things about this camp is that you don’t just say, ‘Hello, It’s nice to meet you.’ You plug in, and say something with your guitar. That’s my favorite way to meet people."
To ensure that every guest gets the opportunity to spend time with the featured artists, the G4 Experience is only limited to 175 attendees. The price of registration will vary depending on the type of room you will be acquiring, but it will include 4 nights lodging, meals, master classes, breakout sessions, live performances and jam sessions.
As an added bonus, every attendee will get a welcome kit when they arrive at the resort. The kit includes Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert guitar picks and a commemorative G4 Experience poster. To promote the event, the organizers are giving away a free Ibanez RG electric guitar to those that will register before January 31, 2014.
Satriani summarizes: "G4 will give everyone a chance to improve their skills, meet like minded players, be inspired, and make some great guitar music!"
