The winner will also receive 12 sets of brand new Dunlop Ukulele Strings, to ensure that the free Ukulele is played with fresh strings all year round.

The Solid Acacia Tenor Ukuleles that are to be given away are from Kala. They feature a slotted-headstock, rosewood edge binding and classic herringbone purfling. Other features of these great looking Ukuleles include custom position markers, vintage geared chrome tuners, rosewood bridge and fingerboard and ebony nut and saddle. What makes them extra special is the hand painted art that they will feature, coming from the hands of popular artist Donny Gillies.

According to the press release: “San Francisco based artist “Dirty” Donny Gillies is widely known for his work in the rock, punk and metal music realms, designing album covers, show posters and band merchandise for the likes of The Melvins, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Metallica, among many others, and has also lent his signature style artwork to hot rods, pinball machines, skateboards, designer toys and more. Donny’s list of clients also includes Fender, Vans, Bell Helmets, pro skater Steve Caballero, and, of course, Dunlop, which has released an Artists of the Underground custom pick tin set adorned with Donny’s art”.

Jim Dunlop celebrated their partnership with Dirty Donny by commissioning 15 custom-painted special edition Kala ukuleles in line with Dunlop’s newly released line of ukulele strings. Check out the quick video from Dunlop that features the free lance artist Donny Gillies:
