AmpliTube expands their line of brand-approved gear with new boutique items from Dr. Z, Z-Vex and Fulltone.
Aside from the new gear, AmpliTube Custom Shop is also upgraded with 32 and 62-bit AAX compatibility.
Like other previously released virtual gear, these new comers are available for purchase via the online store within the application. These digital approximations are all officially certified and approved by their respective manufacturers, which means that the brands found that these models sound close enough to their hardware counterparts.
This new collaboration shows that more amp and effects manufacturers are embracing digital modeling technology, instead of shying away from it. Here are some details on the new virtual gear available:
Dr. Z Maz 18 Jr.
This is based on an amp that gives out a bigger sound for its 18W power. The software model mimics the hardware’s signal path which goes through 12AX7 and 12AT7 preamp tubes, EL84 output tubes and a GZ34 rectifier tube. The tone is described to having a smooth top end, good definition and tight bottom end. This model also comes with a 3D reverb effect.
Dr. Z Wreck
This 30W boutique tube amp head is described as having incredible touch sensitivity ideal for clean playing. AmpliTube describes the tones as going from clean to twang, and crunch to scream. Like a real amp, you can roll off your guitar volume to get a cleaner sound.
Dr. Z 1×12 and 2×12 Cabinets
To match the new amp heads from Dr. Z, AmpliTube also modeled two of their guitar cabinets. The 1×12 Cabinet is the ideal cab for the Maz 18 Jr. Model, while the 2×12 Cabinet is perfect for the Z-Wreck. Ofcourse you can mix and match various cabinets to get the tone that you want.
Z-Vex Seek Wah
This is modeled after a wah with built-in analog-style sequencer. You can set it up to 4, 6 or 8 steps, and features LEDs that light up to show the steps. If you are looking for a unique rhythmic wah pattern, this will be a great addition to your collection.
Z-Vex Seek Trem
This effect model is based on a tremolo pedal that comes with its own adjustable sequencer. Like the Seek Wah, it has a 4, 6, or 8-step analog-style sequencer that will let you set the rhythmic pattern of the tremolo effect.
Fulltone OCD
This popular overdrive pedal is now assimilated into AmpliTube’s collection of virtual effects. It mimics the the pedal’s complex harmonics and sensitivity and it comes with the same basic controls for dialing in your preferred tone.
Z-Vex Seek Trem
This effect model is based on a tremolo pedal that comes with its own adjustable sequencer. Like the Seek Wah, it has a 4, 6, or 8-step analog-style sequencer that will let you set the rhythmic pattern of the tremolo effect.
