AX FACTS & STATS, Vol. 5: SR-71's Mark Beauchemin Another Exclusive Interview/questionnaire type thingie by Dave Roberts for Extremeguitars.com!

Welcome to yet another installation of "Ax Facts & Stats". This month I am thrilled that SR-71's Mark Beauchemin was gracious enough to take time out of his hectic schedule, which includes his current summer tour, to take part in our "A.F. & S.". Mark & SR-71 are also gearing up for the release of their new album, "Tomorrow", due out in stores this fall.

My name is: Mark Beauchemin.

My current job is: Porn star.

My hometown is: Gambrills, MD.

My current album or project is: "Tomorrow".

Former band(s): Meditation Fuzz.

My guitar influences growing up were: Ace Frehley, Neil Schon, The Edge, Jimmy Page.

The guitars I use are: Gibson, PRS.

The strings and tunings I use are: GHS.

My current rig setup consists of: 2 Marshall heads and cabs.

The greatest invention for guitars is: Keebler DLW 6000.

My normal songwriting process: Music, melody, lyrics.

My Favorite SR-71 solo is: "Hello Hello".

My Favorite SR-71 song is: "Over".

My Career highlight is: Touring with Bon Jovi.

My most embarrassing moment on stage: I've tripped or fell over about a dozen times.

The one piece of my gear that I cannot live without is: Kathy Fong (my red Les Paul).

The first song I mastered on guitar was: "Country Roads" (John Denver).

My first guitar was: Sears SG.

The one thing most fans don't know about me is: I'm not actually human.

The best advice I could give beginning guitarists is: Write songs, play piano.

The CD(s) I'm listening to right now is: Butch Walker.

My 3 all-time favorite albums are:
1. "Rock-n-roll" Over (KISS)
2. "Escape" (Journey)
3. "Unforgettable Fire" (U2)

I'm a sucker: sorry to hear that.

If I could meet any ONE person living or dead, he/she would be: Marilyn Monroe.

My favorite junk food is: UTZ cheese curls.

My biggest pet peeve is: Being sober.

The word or catch phrase I say way too much is: 'chinpoko hoshi'.

The hardest part of my job is: getting up.

The first thing I do when I come home from touring is: get off the bus.

I knew I hit the "big time" when: Haven't hit it yet.

My Favorite Website is: eBay

The worst job I ever had was: road crew.

Right after this interview I'm going to: eat.

If I could create the dream band with any musicians dead or alive, I would choose: Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.

If I wasn't doing the musician thing, I could really see myself working as: owning a bar.

My favorite movie ever: vision quest.

If I could go back and change only one thing in my career, it would be: everything.

My mission in life: time travel.

My greatest obsession: hair.

My first band was: PWI.

My next major step is: forward.

The greatest contribution guitars have brought into my life is tough fingertips.

The coolest toy I had growing up was: Legos.
