The Critics on Curtis

Curtis shows off his strong sense of melody and composition. Each song is a musical journey.
Guitar World Jan. ’99
There aren’t enough good instrumental guitar albums being released these days and Curtis could help fill that void. His music contains romantic visions amidst thumping rhythms.
Lee Cotten/ROCK & BLUES NEWS March ’99.
(Curtis)’ music is very sophisticated and experimental, crossing genres with the ease of wind chimes. He holds the music together with his all-encompassing mastery … a pleasure to watch as he physically conveyed the essence of his material sharply and distinctly. Mood music of the highest caliber.
Bernard Baur/MUSIC CONNECTION Nov. ’98.
Curtis is a guitar player’s guitar player.
Bill Locey/LOS ANGELES TIMES Oct. ’98.
Guitar fans will find plenty to hold their interest. Curtis makes for great listening.
GUITAR 9 (Internet) Sept. ’98
Ultra sleek, shimmering, and aurally exciting in the extreme. Superb electric guitar instrumentals of all flavors.
G-Man/ROCK CITY NEWS Oct.’98.
Ever been taken on a magic carpet ride? On his self-titled CD Curtis that’s exactly where you are delivered! His musical style can rock at times, yet can be smooth like a fine glass of wine. A first-class sophisticated guitarist.
Keith Clifton/KCLA 99.3 FM Nov. ’98.
A serious electric guitar player whose first eponymous CD is an instrumental tour de force of modern musical exploration … where rock can go when a thoughtful instrumentalist gets hold of it.
Josh Urbach/NIGHT MOVES Nov. ’98.
Curtis (CD) is a mirror image of his spiritual journey
