Anybody use a Zoom G1 or G2?

I currently use a Zoom 505ii for gigs, and was wondering how the new G1 and G2 compare with this. As far as I can tell from reading the technical stuff, the GFX series uses the old effects chip, but the G series uses a new one. An important weakness of the 505ii is its EQ section, which just consists of a whole bunch of presets from which you are obliged to select. Anybody know how the EQ in the G series units works? Also, are the distortion effects (od,pv, bg etc) the same as in the 505ii?
