Cole Clark Little Lady – Short Scale Guitar

The Cole Clark Little Lady is a uniquely shaped short scale acoustic-electric guitar with patented multi-pickup system.

This compact acoustic will feature native Australian tonewood, Spanish heel neck joint design and the company’s unique pickup system, three distinct features found on many of Cole Clark’s instruments.

As the name implies, the Little Lady has a shorter scale length of 23.5″, following the specs found on many high-end jazz guitars in the mid-20th century. It looks like a parlor guitar and contrasts the company’s Fat Lady acoustic series, which have a regular dreadnought body shape and size. The Little Lady is currently available in two versions, 1 Series and 2 Series, following Cole Clark’s model tier and labeling convention.

The 1 Series Little Lady features the patented two-way pickup system that is unique to the brand. Instead of the usual “strip” piezo design, it utilizes six individual piezo pickups under the saddle and a face sensor. This results in a more balanced amplified sound that also captures the resonance of the top which adds more realism to the resulting sound.

The 1 Series lets you pick between Queensland maple or Australian Blackwood for the back and sides. There is also an all-acoustic traditional version available, if you prefer not to have any electronics built into the guitar.

The 2 Series Little Lady offers a step up in terms of tonewood choice and electronics. Speaking of electronics, this version sports Cole Clark’s patented three-way pickup system which adds a built-in condenser microphone to the face sensor and six piezo under saddle pickup system. This configuration covers all bases, capturing more of your actual guitar sound and character via the addition of a condenser microphone. The built-in condenser mic should add the natural “air” which is normally missing on amplified piezo equipped acoustic-electric guitars.

The choice of back tonewood offered for the 2 Series Little Lady include Indian Rosewood and Australian blackwood. Being the more premium version, it comes with abalone snowflalke fretboard inlays, purfling, gold machine heads and a two-ring rosette.

Both the 1 Series and 2 Series Little Lady guitars come with a solid Californian Redwood face, and comes with a professional quality gig bag.
