The WCG25SCE is part of Washburn’s Comfort Series of acoustic-electric guitars, featuring a nice looking beveled top.
This guitar is definitely a looker, with its Grand Auditorium shape and Venetian cutaway shape being highlighted by a beautiful mahogany/maple binding.
The Washburn Comfort Series is meant to combine looks and ergonomics to provide convenient playing experience. The series have unique belly and top carves that are designed to hug the body to make playing comfortable and less awkward. In the case of the WCG25SCE, it has a beveled top at the lower bout that is also a part of the guitar’s mahogany binding.
Aside from comfort, the WCG25SCE also provides plenty of aesthetic details. The top of this guitar is made of book matched solid Sitka spruce while the back and sides are made of rosewood. The book matched rosewood back is split by a great looking maple/mahogany/maple strip, which matches the guitar’s mahogany/maple body and headstock binding. The guitar’s centerpiece is a sound hole rosette that is made of alternating maple and mahogany.
The rosewood capped headstock comes with a pearl inlaid Washburn logo, as well as a stylized W and Washburn branded die cast tuners with ebonite buttons. The guitar has a 25.5″ scale mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard that is devoid of inlays, matching the guitar’s mahogany bound rosewood bridge. The 20 fret neck is satin finished and features a two-way trussrod. Rounding off its features are matching black NuBone saddle and nut.
The Washburrn WCG25SCE is equipped with Fishman Isys 501T electronics. It is a mic and undersaddle transducer system that provides flexible amplified tones. It also comes with a nifty integrated tuner.
The WCG25SCE Acoustic-Electric is currently available with a suggested retail price of $1069.90.

Hello. This guitar really caught my eye; however, I cannot find it anywhere, online. Also, I can’t get any response, from Washburn, as to where I can see/purchase one. Very frustrating!
I agree with you that this acoustic guitar is definitely a looker. I did a quick search online and found that eBay is selling one:

Good luck!
It’s is amazing that you found it. I have checked dozens of times, including last night for this guitar and couldn’t find it. Guess you have that magic touch!!
Many thanks. I’ll try to let you know how it plays/sounds.

As an additional note. I did find this guitar, on Ebay; however, I’ve emailed the seller several times, as well as Washburn and can’t get any help. All I want is to hear the thing and talk to someone that has actually held it, to get an idea of the feel and playability.
This doesn’t bode well for me owning one. And, I guess, considering my past expierence with Washburn and their warranties, it’s just as well. Besides, I’ve since found two Alvarez guitars that I really like and I doubt that Washburn could touch them, in any of the above mentioned areas.
I appreciate you trying to help out, though..
Hope you, and yours, had a wonderful, Merry Christmas.
Jim
I found a YouTube demo of this acoustic for those that are interested in hearing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52HZfGM92ZI
