Vox Mini3 G2 Portable Modeling Amp

The Mini3 G2 is the next generation portable modeling amplifier from Vox, featuring upgraded effects and circuitry.

This compact amp comes with eleven amp models taken from the technology used on their popular Valvetronix line of amps.

Unique to the generation 2 model is the Vox Bassilator circuit, which helps improve the amp's bass response even at low volume levels. The Bassilator circuit enables the amp to produce low frequencies that other small amps will not have. This is very effective for modern high-gain music. This increases the versatility of the amp, and makes it useful for other instruments like acoustic-electrics and keyboards.

This new amp also introduces upgraded modeling and on board effects, which means that you get more realistic sounding emulations of your favorite amps and effects, all within a compact and portable combo cabinet.

Inheriting the modeling technology that made Valvetronix popular, the Mini3 G2 features improved and more dynamic amp models. You can use them to produce a wide variety of the guitar tone used today. It starts off with the emulation of a British Vox tone, and covers everything from classic vintage, rare boutique amps to modern high-gain ones.

The built-in effects were improved and now comes with a chorus, flanger, compressor and tremolo. This small amp also has a dedicatied section for delay and reverb. Basic control of the effects is provided along with a tap tempo button for syncing delay time.

To cater to singer songwriters, the Mini3 G2 has a dedicated mic input, complete with its won volume control and reverb/delay send. You can also jam with your favorite song by plugging in your media player to the amp's aux input jack.

Like the previous Mini3 amp, this new version is compact and lightweight, weighing in at just 6.61 pounds. It comes with a detachable strap so you can carry the amp by hand or over-the-shoulder via a guitar strap. Six AA alkaline batteries can keep the amp running for 10 hours, which makes it ideal for small outdoor jamming and street performances.

The Vox Mini3 G2 is arriving in the late summer of 2013, and it is available in three color choices - brown, black and vintage ivory. Pricing not yet known but it might be within the same range as the original Mini3, which was $99. For further details, you can visit Vox Amps.
