Ibanez announces the availability of the new Grooveline G106 6-string Bass, featuring a unique shape designed for balance and comfortable playing.

This premium bass guitar took Ibanez three years to create, with the aim to produce a good looking bass guitar that has a good center balance.

Because of its balanced body and neck design, the Grooveline G106 bass guitar does not require the support of your hands, whether you are sitting down or standing up. This means that your hands are free to do what their supposed to do, which is to play the bass, instead of carrying an trying to balance your instrument.

This bass looks and feels like a boutique level instrument, and according to Ibanez, it may just be the most responsive, comfortable bass that they have ever built. The body of this bass guitar is built with an alder center, and features ash body lamination on both the top and the back. It is cut in a unique double cutaway shape that offers more room for playing the upper frets.

The neck is joined to the body via its unique six-point bolt-on joint, which maximizes the contact surface area for improved playability and durability. The guitar features a 5pc Wnge/Bubinga neck with KTS Titanium rods for handling the added stress of 6 bass strings. It is topped by a rosewood fretboard with 22 medium frets.

Contrasting its modern boutique look, this bass guitar is equipped with Cap Sonic Arch pickups that produce classic bass tones. This single-sized humbuckers feature blade pole pieces that help provide a balanced overall bass sound. Further tweaking of your tone can be done by adjusting the built-in 3-band EQ, which comes with a bypass switch, for bassists that prefer passive sounds.

To ensure the instrument’s stability and intonation, Ibanez equipped the Grooveline G106 with a tight end bridge with Saddle Lock System and 6 Gotoh GB350 tuners. These tuners are designed to be lightweight, helping the instrument’s weight balance. All the hardware comes in a cosmo black finish, and are rounded up by a Black TUSQ XL nut.
