Old Yamaha jazz guitar, who knows more about it?
Hello,
I bought a 2nd hand Yamaha hollowbody electric guitar. I was told that it was made between the years 1972-1975. The guitar has the serial number 24545. It is in a very good condition, everything works fine, including the tremolo. There are no scratches on the guitar and the hardware shines as brandnew. I paid US$ 900 for it. You can see some foto's of the guitar on www.dutchcom.net/yamaha_guitar/index.htm
Can you tell me what this model is called, when it was made, what the price was when it was new and what the value is now.
Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
Armin Moller

Re: SHO BUD ACOUSTIC GUITAR
I have a Sho Bud Acoustic Guitar (Heart Model 7724) which
my wife bought for my birthday in 1981. She went to a local music shop and asked the owner (who was playing this guitar at the time), If he was going to buy any guitar in
his store, which one would he buy. His response, The Sho Bud Heart he was playing. She bought the guitar on the spot. She thouht the owner was going to cry... I will tell you this.. I will not part with it. To me, it sounds
better than any guitar I have heard.

: John, I also have a sho-bud club model. I've had mine for over 20 years, and paid $200.00. I don't know it's present value, but certainly much more than I paid. I saw Roy Clark playing a club model on Hee Haw--I was impressed.

Re: SHO BUD ACOUSTIC GUITAR
The only thing i know about the guitar is that i would give my right arm for one. It has a terrific sound and is very well crafted. I have a friend who has one. The playability is good, and I would rather play it then my martin anyday. If either of you would like to sell, contact me or post a message.

I have the same guitar. I bought it new in 1979 for $200(I think) As I recall there was an entire line of these guitars , one model for each card suit...club spade heart diamond and also a "grand slam" model. I havent seen another Sho-Bud acoustic guitar since the day I bought mine.It has developed a very sweet tone and is worth far more to me now than what I paid.
Re: SHO BUD ACOUSTIC GUITAR
I have the same guitar and I can not find any info on it. I got mine in a pawn shop in Fort Wayne, In. A friend of mine worked in the pawn shop there. Plays good.

Re: SHO BUD ACOUSTIC GUITAR
These posting are kind of old, so I don't know if any of you guys found out anything more about value. I have a Diamond Model. I traded another guitar for it back in 1979 or 1980. I have played it extensively ever since. Sounds great and has a fantastic action.
Re: SHO BUD ACOUSTIC GUITAR
I have a Sho Bud Acoustic pre Gretch (diamond heart club spade or grand slam). This is number 75 of 100 they made before selling the patent to gretch. It is hand made right here in USA. Any ideas on how much its worth?

Re: national triolian 4 string
I, too, have one. You can tune it like a baritone uke (D-G-B-E) or like a tenor banjo. I use the uke tuning (1st 4 high strings of a 6 string guitar). Ptoblem with them is that the necks bow and you grow sharper up the next. Austin luthier Vinnie Mondello rebuilt the neck with a steel rod, wood braces, and fiberglass inside and it now plays like a jewel.
Re: national triolian 4 string
Let me know if you find anyone that can help you, I have one that sounds almost identical.
Thanks,
Kim

I have a very similar instrument. I learned quite a bit about it simply by calling the National company and giving them the serial numbers I found on the body and on the neck.
