OK - so I'm looking at a emperador 12 str acoustic (no label inside) and really can't find much info about them - I'm guessing this thing is 60-70's and it's mint cond - at the local pawn shop - I play all gtrs elec/acoustic, bass, elec and 12 string. Just interested on history if anyone can help out - I'm off to buy it now $AUD 170 - think that can be negotiated tho and have the feeling they don't know what they really have there. Thanks Alison

Hi Dan i have a 1972 Kasuga acoustic guitar which i have just been given. It has an ajustable bridge with a screw at each side so it can raise the strings up and down(i have never seen this before on a guitar)i dont know its origin where kasuga guitars come from. Wolverine Guitar Early 1900's era Parlour guitar
My mother just aquired a guitar from my Grandmothers estate, It was her mothers.
There is a decal with wolverine on the headstock, the origin is probably Mi. as all my relatives are from that area, Ann Arbor & Detriot. It appears to be parlour size & constructed with sitka spruce top, brazilian rosewood back & sides, Ebony neck w classical style tuning pegs.
(I have nylons on it ) It also has fancy inlays instead of dots, so I suspect it's worth a lot more than the $60.00 she bouught it for. Anyone have any research database that I can go to to try & find out more about it? Gibson connection ? etc.
Thanks Mperkins37

El Degas F209 12 String
oops had to correct email... Been playing for almost 40 years now with a recent 12 year hiatus. Decided to pick up guitar again and, damn do I miss playing. Anyway stashed in the garage with all my guitars amps etc was my old El Degas F209 12 String. It needed a new bridge and a tuning key. Had a craftsman in Pueblo CO fix er up and she sounds great. More than great actually. I had never really given much thought to either the name or how good this guitar really sounds. I originally traded a Fender maple guitar neck for the 12 string in 72. My friend had only owned the guitar for a couple months when the trade was made and I've had it ever since. As I said really hadn't paid any attention to the name of the guitar over the years and now with the internet i checked it out. Appears that El Degas is a respected name. Anybody else have this guitar? Can anyone tell me more about this particular (F209 12 string) model or about El Degas in general? Thanks Steve

We picked up a Tiesco guitar in seemingly good shape from an individual who was selling it on the local ask your neighbor program on the radio. We were just wondering if we paid a good price for it or if it was just a waste.

Classical 4/4 Aria guitar MR 150
I bought this guitar 15 years ago from a music store whose company had gone bankrupt. According to him the guitar was a prototype made for Herb Ellis. It has a solid spruce top and solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. The tuners are plated with a yellow metal which I expect is gold, although I cannot say for sure. It was made in Nagoya, Japan before Arai transferred the manufacture of Aria guitars to Spain.
I have hardly played it and other than a couple of very small scratches, it is like it came out of the factory. A coupIe of years ago, I took it to a guitar maker for restringing and he told me the guitar had a richer sound than most of the Remirez's, Hausers, etc. that he had heard.
I am interested in getting a "ballpark" value on it for insurance purposes. (Wilma took my roof off and I want to get it insured.)
I live in the South Florida Area and would like to find an appraiser who would give me a written estimate. Unfortunately I have spent a couple of hours on the internet and have been unable to find a local appraiser.
I have read several opinions that the "by mail" appraisals are not very accurate. Anybody know of an appraiser in South Florida?
Thanks!
Re: Classical 4/4 Aria guitar MR 150
Hi Jerry,
I have an Aria MR-100 and I like i very much. Please let me know what you want for your AR-150. I bought my guitar in the early 1976 also from a store that was going out of business. At that time I paid for it $250.00. For me it was more then I should spend but I never regretted buying it
Please let me know what you would let me have yours.
Best regards,
Dan.

Re: degas

: I bought my El Degas (Les Paul recording copy) in 1972.Paid $500 for it and a Fender Vibrolux, both new. I've played it hard ever since. Got the frets worn down bad. It has the old "soap bar"pick-ups and a very different tone switching configuration. Nothing like the standard LP, 2-vol./2-tone set up. Still sounds great and doesn't loose tone when you turn down the volume of the guitar.Bottom end rumbles! As far as value, I have no idea! I do know , I wouldn't consider selling it!
