Cordoba C9 Dolce
Cordoba joins the small body guitar trend with their own hand-made 7/8 size nylon string guitar, the C9 Dolce.
This guitar follows the design of their popular C9 model, only smaller with a scale length of 630mm.
Usually, small body guitars are thought of as something for young players or beginners. Now, we are seeing a revival of high-end small body guitars in the market, these instruments are in demand because of their vintage appeal and tone, and they are easy and more comfortable to play.
Cordoba catches on this trend with the C9 Dolce, featuring high-end specs at a reasonable price. The body has a solid Canadian cedar top, and features solid mahogany back and sides, a combination known to produce sweet and warm tones. These solid tonewoods would cost twice as much if used on instruments from more prominent brands.
To ensure quality craftsmanship, this guitar is assembled and hand built by a small team of builders in Cordoba's boutique workshop, using traditional Spanish construction techniques. The mahogany neck and the braces are all hand carved, and it comes with a Spanish heel. It also features a domed soundboard built on a traditional solera.
Following the embellishments of Cordoba's Luthier series guitars, the C9 Dolce features hand-inlaid mother-of-pearl rosette inspired by a 1920's Domingo Esteso rosette.
Other features include an ebony fretboard, two-way adjustable truss rod, black and gold tuning machines, and the guitar comes in a deluxe Cordoba humidified archtop wood case.
The Cordoba C9 Dolce is currently retailing for around $800. Get the latest price & reviews at Amazon.com
