Mitchell ME1ACE Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Mitchell Guitars expand their Element Series with the ME1ACE, an affordable solid spruce top acoustic-electric guitar.

Mitchell Element ME1ACE

Known for their entry level priced instruments, Mitchell describes this guitar as one of the most well-appointed and high-quality guitar they have produced, combining good specs, tonewoods, cosmetic embellishments and modern construction techniques.

The ME1ACE is part of Mitchell’s latest line of acoustics called Element, all of which feature improved specs and aesthetics while maintaining a very accessible price tag. This guitar features an auditorium body shape with Venetian cutaway, and it comes with onboard Fishman electronics.

The body of this acoustic guitar features a solid spruce top that is supported by shifted scalloped X bracing pattern, which allows for improved resonance, that in turn increase projection. The back and sides feature striped sapele, a more cost effective alternative to mahogany, that retains much of its tonal quality and appearance. This combination results in familiar acoustic tones.

The neck is crafted from mahogany and topped by a 20-fret Indian rosewood fingerboard with a standard scale length of 25.5″ and abalone dot inlay fret markers. It joins the body via a dovetail joint. Playability should be similar to traditional acoustics, but with improved upper fret access thanks to the venetian cutaway.

Giving the guitar its plugged-in tone is its built-in Fishman™ INK3 piezo pickup with preamp system. It comes equipped with basic EQ and a useful tuner that adds even more value to this affordable instrument.

The bridge is also crafted from rosewood and features a Nubone TUSQ compensated saddle. At the other end of the strings, Mitchell equipped the ME1ACE with high-ratio die-cast chrome tuners that feature ebonite keys that adds to the woody overall theme of the instrument.

Other features of this acoustic include elegant flame maple bindings, wood (sapele/maple) rosette, and a lightly rubbed satin “open-pore” finish that gives the guitar a traditional earthy appeal.

The Mitchell Element ME1ACE is currently retailing for just under $350, quite affordable for its specs and for what it can do. For further details and to check their other affordable acoustic guitar products, visit Mitchell Guitars.
