Michael Kelly introduces the Patriot Supreme Guitar

Michael Kelly Guitar Company has introduced the newest edition to their Patriot series of guitars, the Patriot Supreme. The simplest way to describe the Michael Kelly Patriot Supreme could be that it’s like owning that perfect classic ride…just with better steering and a more modern feel! The new Michael Kelly “Set-Thru” Neck Construction method is a modern upgrade to classic neck through construction. The new Set-Through method used on the Patriot Supreme allows the neck to go much deeper into the body which provides many performance enhancing upgrades. The benefits include overall tone, sustain and added access to upper notes which is not commonly possible on most single cutaway guitars. The Patriot Supreme also boasts as standard materials a mahogany body, Rockfield SWC pickups, and ebony fingerboard. Like all Patriot Guitars, the top is deeply carved and available in 3 finishes consisting of Black Vapor over figured maple, Cherry Sunburst over flame maple and Tiger Eye over quilted maple. The Patriot Supreme although visually stunning including the new “Supreme” inlay, Michael Kelly kept with the motto “Built on Sound” by including award winning Rockfield pickups. The Rockfield SWC pickups add a round warm tone with a tad more bite than

Korg Rimpitch Acoustic Guitar Sound Hole Tuner

Korg unveils Rimpitch, a unique acoustic guitar tuner that clips to the bottom rim of the sound hole. Related Feature:Korg PitchHawk Clip-On Tuner The tuner’s discrete placement solves the viewing angle and convenience issues of clip-type tuners. It aligns with your natural viewing angle and it will not get in the way when you store your guitar. In this age, convenience is of utmost importance, driving manufacturers like Korg to continue to push the boundaries of guitar gear usability. Even the seemingly straightforward and already effective compact clip-on tuner is not safe from innovation – with some guitar players complaining that tuners attached to the headstock can be annoying and too distant from the eye. Korg removes these minor annoyances by designing a tuner that discretely clips to a position where guitar players naturally look at, which is the sound hole. Rimpitch is a round shaped clip-on tuner that attaches to the lower rim of the sound hole, providing a convenient viewing angle when tuning. Adding to its natural line of sight position is the high-brightness LED interface, ensuring that you can see the tuning meter and string name indicator properly regardless of lighting conditions. D’Addario Planet Waves NS Micro Tuner

The NS Micro Tuner from D’Addario Planet Waves made “waves” at the recent NAMM Show, bagging a Best In “Show Award” in the Best Accessories & Add-Ons category. Gibson Min-ETune:Automatic Mechanical Tuners The clip-on tuner is lightweight and very small, discretely attaching to the headstock of your guitar to get the job done without distracting you and your audience. To create this compact tuner, D’Addario sought the help of Ned Steinberger, known for his ergonomic, compact and innovative instruments. The result of their collaboration is a fully functional clip-on tuner that is visible to the player but hidden from the view of the audience. In contrast with the tuner’s small size, the NS Micro packs in a lot of features. It piezo sensor system provides accurate tuning while the improved software offers faster note recognition when compared to previous generation tuners. The small tuner also has an expanded calibration range, which allows it to work with a variety of tuning and musical instruments. It works well with electric, acoustic, classical and bass guitars, as well as other stringed instruments like mandolins, ukuleles, banjos and upright basses. D’Addario NS Micro Soundhole Tuner

D’Addario introduces the NS Micro Soundhole Tuner, a soundhole-mounted variant of their popular ultra-compact tuner. Related Feature:D’Addario NS Micro Tuner Like the NS Micro Tuner, this version is designed to be as discreet as possible while ensuring that you see the screen properly and it reflects the right notes accurately. The main difference being its clip, which is specially designed to mount on the inside of a soundhole. The original NS Micro Tuner is designed to simply clip on the back of headstocks, so it works with various types of instruments. This new release is designed specifically for acoustic instruments with soundholes, including the ukulele, parlor guitars, acoustic guitars and the like. The company says that the NS Micro Soundhole Tuner is their most discrete tuner yet, which is true because only the guitarist playing the guitar will see the very small tuner itself, unlike the original where people on the back side will see it on the back of the headstock. However, there is a protruding clip on the soundhole, which although small is still quite visible, so it’s not really 100% discrete. To be honest, I’d still prefer the original design because it can work with more instruments,

EHX Super Pulsar Tremolo Pedal

Related Feature:EHX C9 Organ Machine From classic and subtle tremolo to modern pulsating rhythms and experimental stutters, the Super Pulsar will cover virtually all types of tremolo effects, and it does so quite gracefully. They have managed to turn what would otherwise be a straightforward tremolo effect into an interesting piece of gear that can help you get quite a lot of sounds. The Super Pulsar’s analog circuit goes beyond the typical tremolo by adding the ability to take the shape of a square, triangle or sine wave. Each of these shapes offer a different voicing, and essentially gives you multiple tremolo effects in one unit. Also, you can further tweak the shapes via the Rate, Shape and Depth knobs, allowing for even more tremolo styles. By playing with these combinations, you can create familiar and straightforward sounding tremolo effects or experiment with out of this world style pulsating

Related Feature:Top Tremolo Pedals This update comes after more than a third of a century in production, and brings with it expanded control over the tremolo effect based on customer suggestions while retaining the original unit’s all-analog optical design. The original Tremulator pedal played a pivotal role in the company’s decision to design and manufacture pedals. The story goes that it all began 34 years ago, when Ry Cooder asked James Demeter to build him a tremolo pedal that sounded similar to the one built into his favorite amplifier. James accepted the challenge, analyzed the tube circuit and came up with a versatile solid state version that fits in a pedal box and powered by a 9 volt battery. Cutting the long story short, Ry Cooder loved the pedal and shared the story to his friends. As expected, word got out and soon demand for the pedal moved James to get into the pedal building business, even though he is originally only interested in preamps and tube amplifiers. Now Demeter Amps have a number of pedals available, with the Tremulator still

Yamaha 4th Generation L Series Acoustic Guitars

Yamaha announces the arrival of their newly revamped, 4th Generation handcrafted acoustic guitar line, the L Series. Related Feature:Yamaha acquires Line 6! Although not as popular as their student level guitars, the Yamaha L Series has a long history of 40 years, providing experienced players with reliable handcrafted guitars at reasonable prices. For two years, Yamaha has been working on updating these instruments, and they finished just in time for the L Series’ 40th anniversary. Yamaha TransAcoustic Guitars

Yamaha introduces the TransAcoustic Guitar, with innovative built-in mechanical reverb and chorus effect generator. Related Feature:‘Vo Wand Synth for Guitar Drawing from the same TransAcoustic technology that the company has been using on their acoustic pianos, the company has successfully implemented the same reverb technology into their acoustic guitars. Yamaha’s TransAcoustic lets you add both reverb and chorus to the natural sound of your acoustic guitar, and the effect is produced by the body of the guitar itself, instead of having to rely on external effects or amplification. This is achieved by incorporating a mechanical actuator inside the guitar, which vibrates in unison with the strings. This vibration is then passed on to the body and to the air around the guitar, resulting in authentic sounding reverb and chorus effects. You can control the degree of the two effects with the dedicated reverb and chorus knobs that are embedded on the side of the guitar that is facing the player. And it’s not just a basic reverb effect because you can switch from room to hall by rotating the reverb knob clockwise. It also has a lineout volume level control, in case you want to plug-in the guitar into a

Tone King Ironman II Mini Power Attenuator

Tone King introduce the Ironman II Mini, a compact power attenuator in pedal form, for amplifiers rated 30W or less. Related Feature:Best Guitar Amp Attenuators This stand-alone power attenuator is described as precision reactive, designed using proprietary technology that maintains the natural tone characteristics of a cranked amp at lower volume levels. Even if you wanted to, the reality of life prevents you from cranking up your amp, so in many cases, you have to practice with uninspiring low volume tone. Power attenuators are designed to solve this problem, letting you get full-on tones at neighborhood friendly levels. Tone King’s Ironman II Mini, does just that, designed for small to medium sized amplifiers rated 30W and below. Conventional power attenuator designs use basic resistive loads to simply lower the volume of the audio output coming to the speaker. However, the Ironman II Mini has a different design in that it has tuned reactive load mirrors which mimic the impedance curve of real speakers, resulting in a more natural tone. And interestingly, they were able to fit both the resistive and reactive loads into a compact and portable floorpedal unit that is 5 lbs light. To further enhance the tone consistency
