Vintage ViolinBass Series VVB4SB
The new Vintage Violin Bass VVB4SB comes in a familiar violin like shape, the latest JHS Vintage ReIssued bass.
This hollow body bass borrows heavily from the violin like bass that was popularized by Paul McCartney, bearing the same classic look and appeal.
This type of bass is popular not only for its association with the Fab Four, but also because of its versatile tone, able to handle pop, jazz, indie, soul and even rock by just picking the right pickup and technique combination.
The body of the VVB4SB features a spruce top with flame maple back and sides. The body is cut into a beautiful looking violin shape and comes in a matching Antique Sunburst finish. It has a hard maple set neck that is topped with a rosewood fretboard. It has a 30" scale length and comes with 22 frets and feature traditional pearloid dot inlays as fret markers.
To capture its authentic hollow sound, this bass is equipped with two Wilkinson WDB bass pickups. You can get a wide variety of tones by using the volume knobs and playing with the rhythm, bass and treble switches.
Other features of the VVB4SB Violin Bass include open geared tuners with pearloid buttons, adjustable rosewood bridge with trapeze tailpiece and to contrast its finish, all the hardware come in chrome.
The Vintage ViolinBass Series VVB4SB is currently available with a list price of £329, which includes a hard shell case. You can head over to JHS if you want more information about this hollow body bass guitar.
