PRS Mark Tremonti Baritone Limited Edition
PRS Guitars introduces the new Mark Tremontii Baritone Limited Edition model, with a longer 25.5" scale length.
PRS SE Mark Holcomb Signature
Longtime PRS endorser Mark Tremonti of Creed and Alter Bridge fame gets another signature guitar under his belt - a long scale "Baritone" guitar variation of his original signature guitar that makes the instrument viable for down-tuning to C#, which is Mark's preferred tuning.
Much of this limited version is based on Tremonti's signature PRS model, including the body shape and the hardware used. But what sets it apart is its longer 25.5" scale length which prevents buzzing when tuning down the guitar. To be specific, this configuration will let you swap out the "wound" G string for a thinner non-wound one, and do so without encountering unwanted buzzing and fret noise.
And since the G-string is now non-wound, the Tremonti Baritone LE configuration allows for bending the 3rd string, much like you would on a standard tuning guitar. This translates to more solo and riff options for Mark, and other guitarists who will get perfect fit with an aggressive, articulate tone limited run instrument.
The guitar's body is crafted from mahogany and figured maple for the top, carved into the same single cutaway shape as his non-baritone signature guitar. A good number of finish options are available, including Faded Whale Blue, Charcoal Contour Burst, Black Gold Wraparound Burst, Copperhead, Fire Red Burst and Jade.
Giving this guitar its artist approved tones are two Mark Tremonti signature pickups that were co-designed by PRS themselves. These pickups are described as being a perfect fit to the instrument's lower tuning and overall appearance, with their aggressive and articulate tone. The two pickups are wired to a 3-way toggle pickup selector that's positioned on the upper bout, while the volume and tone knobs allow for output and tone adjustments right on the guitar.
The Mark Tremonti Baritone LE comes with stained figured maple neck that features a 22-fret east Indian rosewood fingerboard. To guide your fretting hand, PRS added Green Abalone "old school" birds inlays on the fretboard. Mark's preferred pattern thin profile is applied for each neck, for smooth and fast playability.
Other features include PRS adjustable stoptail bridge and PRS Phase III locking tuners. The announcement for the new PRS Mark Tremonti Baritone Limited Edition coincides with the release of Alter Bridge's latest album called "The Last Hero".

Note that there is no limit to the production number of the new Tremonti Baritone signature guitar, but the order window is limited to until December 20, 2016 only. Each PRS Tremonti Baritone LE will ship tuned to C# (C#, F#, B, E, G#, C#).
Mark Tremonti concludes, "This is one of my favorite guitars I’ve ever played. It’s a dream come true for people who like to tune low and still be able to solo. I absolutely love it," said Mark Tremonti in a recent video interview."
