Antares ATG-6 Technology Demonstration

Antares have held a demonstration session of their ATG-6 “Atuo-Tune for Guitar” Technology, and we have the video.

Last week we brought you news of the announcement from Antares that they will soon be introducing a new product for guitarists – read the story here.

Since then, Harmony Central have posted a video recorded by Craig Anderton at the demonstration event.

In the video we get a better feel for what the ATG-6 will be all about, however we still don’t know the final form the product will take.

Throughout the demonstration, the guitar in use is out of tune. The first thing they show is how the ATG-6 ‘Auto-Tunes’ your guitar, and later they show how it can correct the intonation, as well as instantly change both the tuning and key.

What is more interesting are some of the effects such as harmonizing, and emulation of everything from a bass guitar, to a 12 string guitar, to various types and positions for pickups.

One question that lingers in my mind, is what is it like to play when you hear one particular tuning coming from the amp, when the strings themselves are sounding (and resonating) differently? I guess the only way I’ll find out is when I get a chance to try it for myself, but there’s still no release date yet.

Antares are still promising more information soon at antarestech.com/atg6
