This pedal features both chorus and vibrato effects packed into a single package, featuring sounds that closely resemble it’s classic counterpart mixed with features that improve reliability and consistency.

The original Uni-Vibe was originally designed to mimic the Leslie rotating speaker effect, but it found its way to guitar players as a chorus/vibrato effect bundle. Thanks to high profile guitarists who took notice of the effect and successfully put it to good use, the Uni-Vibe became one of the most sought after pedals in the ’60s.

Immortalized in iconic songs and popularized by Jimi Hendrix and David Gilmour among others, the original Uni-Vibe helped shape the guitar sound of the “flower power” era. Now Electro-Harmonix is releasing their modern version called “Good Vibes”, carrying over the analog tone of the original and packaging it into a stompbox that today’s players can relate to.

Electro-Harmonix President and Founder Mike Matthews said, “We designed it to take you on a trip back to the ‘60s so it delivers the warm, liquid groove we associate with that time in music, but we also updated it to meet the needs of contemporary players.”

EHX designed Good Vibes to utilize the same photocells technology as found on the original Uni-Vibe, and adds some modern implements. The resulting sounds are closer to what the original can do, while the added features deal with the problems that plague old pedals. EHX claims that compared to vintage units, Good Vibes has improved headroom, clarity and definition – thanks to its boosted power rails.

The pedal comes with a straightforward set of control knobs which let you adjust Volume, Speed and Intensity. These knobs will let you shape the sound however you want to and you can even set the modulation to match the groove of your music. Two mini-switches are also provided, one for switching between vibrato and chorus, and an EXP Speed/Intensity switch that lets you select which parameter your expression pedal will control.

For real time adjustments of parameters, the company added an expression pedal input. You can easily plug-in your favorite expression pedal to control the speed or intensity of the effect – depending on how you set the EXP switch.

Like all Electro-Harmonix pedals, Good Vibes is housed in a compact rugged die-cast chassis and is powered by a standard 9V power supply. For visual monitoring, the pedal has a speed LED indicator.

The new Electro-Harmonix Good Vibes pedal has a US list price of $179.99, head over to EHX for further details.
