LunaKraft Black Fuzz Box
LunaKraft releases the new Black Fuzz Box, featuring interchangeable cartridges that modify the sound of the pedal.
Finding the Best Distortion Pedal
The cartridges that attach to the back of the unit behave like modern day presets or patches, they will change the type of fuzz sound you get from the pedal.
Since other pedals can change their voicing via presets, I was wondering why LunaKraft resorted to using old school cartridges. I got the answer I wanted after reading through their press release - "Each cartridge changes the circuitry of the effects box, not just the tonal quality".
The ability to swap the circuit of your stompbox is a novel idea that adds modern versatility without sacrificing true analog tones. The current version comes with two cartridges, one that provides hard clipping fuzz and another for tube sounding fuzz. Thanks to its modular design, more sounds are possible as long as LunaKraft can fit the circuitry into the cartridges.
Interestingly, the Black Fuzz Box behaves like a clean booster when the cartridges are unplugged, adding to the functionality and overall tonal versatility of the pedal. It's like having multiple pedals in one unit, quite unique when compared to other dirt/fuzz boxes.
Controls include true bypass switching, along with traditional volume and level controls. You can avail of a standard 9 Volt power adapter or you can use a 9 Volt battery to power the unit.
To build customer confidence, LunaKraft offers a lifetime warranty to the original owner against failure in materials or workmanship, where items will be repaired or replaced at no additional cost to the original owner. Each unit are handcrafted in a small workshop on Long Island, NY
The Black Fuzz Box is currently retailing for $129, the price tag includes two cartridges and free shipping in the continental US. You can head over to LunaKraft.com for more information.
