Washburn Guitars has announced the release of two new Dan Donegan signature series model guitars for 2008. As lead guitarist for the multi-platinum selling Disturbed, Donegan has virtually defined the sound of modern rock in the new millennium. In addition to his current Washburn signature guitars, the DD60 & DD91 Maya, we’ve added the WI91 & WI63SF. Both new models are based on our classic Idol shape.
The WI91
The WI91 is beautifully crafted in our Washburn USA Custom shop with Donegan’s signature Chopper Top flame graphics based on his custom built motorcycle. It features a mahogany body and ebony fretboard and flame abalone inlay, with Sperzel tuners, Seymour Duncan pickups, a Tune-O-Matic bridge and Tone Pros tailpiece and retails for $5,399.90. (Includes hard shell case.)
The WI63SF
The WI63SF features Chopper Top graphics on a mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fingerboard and debuts Randall’s new UL neck & Ultra XL bridge pickups. Also included are exclusive Grover 18:1 tuners and a unique flame logo on the headstock. The WI63SF retails for $899.90. (Includes gig bag.)
See and hear Dan play his WI91 on tour this summer with Disturbed at the Rock Star Mayhem Festival and on the new album Indestructible in stores June 3, 2008.

The Washburn Maya is A great shredding guitar, with great pickups.
Disturbed is Awesome.
to GLW: Yes, you should have, if you’re even fairly intrested in modern metal. 🙂
I personally love the sound and I’m trying to immitate it using Randall amplifiers, the DD61 Maya guitar and The weapon pedal (both last mentioned Dan Donegan signature stuff). Then again, it’s a matter of taste. 😉
You’ve never heard of Disturbed? Not even their song “Down With the Sickness” which is now one of modern metal’s most played and classic songs? Wow. Anyway, pretty sweet guitars, and being a fan of the guy, I know they sound awesome.
sweet guitars
Yeah its the general corporate BS … I think mostly the younger kids who are into heavier music (like myself) would know of them.
